L’Arno Racconta in Florence
This is the winner of a Medal.
A study proposing improving the urban quality of the City of Florence through lighting emphasizing symbolic and cultural aspects through colour, images and laser lines.
The thought behind the project is that the historical value of urban architecture should be preserved by integrating and highlighting them within the surrounding contemporary landscape. The Arno becomes a screen and a mirror alike – images of Florentine masterpieces are projected dancing onto the water, while the laser and xenon rays combine and are reflected off its glittering surface. The buildings themselves are translated into visions through light topography emphasizing their shape and form.
“For the creative and novel ideas of the proposed intervention of using lighting and projected images to enhance the urban quality of the city’s historical centre”
